What was your facility prior to becoming the Museum?
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego's main facility was the offices, quarters, workshop and powerhouse for the 1,000,000 bushel grain elevator located on the West First Street Pier. Built in the 1920s to capitalize on grain shipments on the Lake Ontario - St. Lawrence River commercial route, the elevator functioned until the 1990s and was demolished in 1998.
