Welcome to the H. Lee White Marine Museum,

in the Historic Maritime District of Oswego, NY.

Located in Oswego's Historic Maritime District, the main building, an original canal terminus, served as the offices and repair shop for the nearby grain elevator.

Preserving and presenting the diverse maritime history of the Oswego harbor and surrounds, the Museum complex consists of main building exhibits and galleries, outdoor exhibits, the Treasure Chest Gift Shop and a fleet of historic vessels the length of Oswego's West First Street Pier.

Along with the 1925 Canal Barge, NYS Derrick Boat 8, and the Eleanor D, the last remaining U.S. commercial fishing boat to work Lake Ontario, the Museum and Port of Oswego Authority welcome the 1938 National Register canal tug, Chancellor and the return of the Schooner OMF Ontario to Oswego Harbor this summer.

Today the Museum is growing and changing. Open all year long with new exhibits installed each year, it offers a variety of activities, programs and events for visitors and area residents of all ages.

The Museum is open Monday - Sunday, 1-5pm, with extended hours in July and August, 10-5pm. NYS Derrick Boat 8 and National Historic Landmark WWII tug, LT-5 are open for touring Mid-May through September 30.
