• "Hot Gold" - A Dinner Theater Event

On Saturday, September 30th at 7 pm, and Sunday, October 1st at 2 pm, the H. Lee White Maritime Museum presents “Hot Gold,” a dinner-theater event in support of the Museum.

“Hot Gold” is the third play to be adapted from the Detective LaFleur mystery novel series, written by Dr. John Fountain and Steve Abbott – both formerly of Oswego, NY.

In “Death at the O.R.” – adapted from the book “O.R.” a twenty-one year old nurse named Angie Frascati is found dead in the operating room of Oswego Hospital of an apparent suicide.  Based on actual events, the fictional story includes the brilliant but quirky detective A.C. La Fleur who investigates her death with the help of his close friends Maggie Malone and Dr. Michael Fuentes.

The second book, “Firesign,” brings Detective LaFleur out of retirement to investigate a rash of suspicious fires in Oswego which culminate in the death of a SUNY Oswego coed.  With a multitude of twists and turns, A.C. LaFleur finds himself too close to the heat as he almost becomes another victim.

In “Hot Gold,” adapted from the book of the same name, LaFleur and Maggie Malone are now married, and proprietors of the former 1850 House in Oswego.  Life seems peaceful and quiet as they enjoy their new lives as tavern owners, until a close friend passes away from an apparent heart attack... or is it?  To the dismay of his wife, LaFleur is drawn into the investigation with the help of a 10 year old boy, and an “other worldly” acquaintance who is faced with his most difficult case yet!

Tickets can be purchased at, the American Foundry, and at the H. Lee White Maritime Museum.  Ticket prices are $65 for Saturday, and $50 for Sunday.  There will also be a silent auction.
